Biography
Dr Chung-Che Chou received the Ph.D. degree in structural engineering from the University of California, San Diego, Calif, USA, in 2001. After a two-year stay as an Assistant Project Scientist working for the New San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge project at the University of California, San Diego, he joined the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Chiao Tung University, Hsin Chu, Taiwan. He joined the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Taiwan University, where he became a Full Professor in 2011. Currently, Professor Chou serves as the Director of the Center for Earthquake Engineering Research (CEER), National Taiwan University, Taiwan. He is an Editorial Panel Member for the International Journal of Earthquakes and Structures, NZSEE Bulletin (New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering Inc.), and the Scientific World Journal, among others. He is also a Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers and the Taiwan Institution of Engineers. His research has been centered on the seismic testing, analysis, and design of civil engineering structures, especially for steel and posttensioned self-centering structures.
